2 Cats in the Yard, Buck & summer Flowers

Bart brought his big backhoe up to dig the holes for the new solar panels. Orange decided to supervise so we have 2 cats in teh yard now.


This buck showed up today too. Don't know if we got deer tags or not yet but he might be a tasty buck if we do.



I really liked these flowers growing over the old hay rake.

Even More Snow!

May and we are still getting snow. This is unusual. Most sprung snows will melt the same day. As it is we are feeding out a lot more hay on pasture to keep the sheep warm.


Even the dandelions are confused by this weather.

Summer is coming and it's really nice out now, not too hot but nice and warm. Good for naps.

Weaving and Cats

This is what's on the small loom currently. I'm weaving several placemats. I have 4 cream with red stripes done and one red with cream stripe and have started my second.

I can't remember exactly how much warp I have on so I am not sure when I will be done.

As soon as this warp is finished I'm moving this loom to the shop next to the big loom.

Fortunately our inside cat Shadow does not like to play with strings.

January Thaw

We always get a thaw in January. The days turn warm, snow melts and we have a mini-mud season. I know it won't last, it's just a taste of spring to come.



We'll probably need to add gravel to the driveways this spring. It's amazing how gravel dissappears so fast!

Front field still has good marks, we may not need to re-mark it this spring. Depends on how much damage the horses do before we get them moved back out to the cedars.

The ewe pens are a mess. But they seem to actually have enjoyed the manure mountains to play on. They do have nice dry areas under the barn to sleep in.

Even our barn cat Orange likes the warm weather. He was lounging on the front steps but sat up before I got his portrait.
